Robert Liard studied at the Académie des Beaux-arts in Liège.
He took part in the Apports exhibitions in 1941 and 19431. In 1949 he became a professor at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Liège. From 1942 to 1949 he lived in Céroux-Mousty.
