WHO WE ARE ?
WHO WE ARE ?
The FONDATION ANTO-CARTE ET LE GROUPE NERVIA is a public utility foundation, an offshoot of the ASBL Les Amis d'Anto-carte.
When the artist Anto-Carte died in 1954, artists lost a friend, a teacher and a master. Conscious of the spiritual heritage for which they were responsible, Youl Carte and Léon Eeckman wished to perpetuate Carte's work and created the ASBL Les Amis d'Anto-Carte.
With the same enthusiasm, Françoise Eeckman, Léon Eeckman's daughter, and Eric Hemeleers, his grandson, are continuing, through what has now become the Fondation d'utilité publique, what had been undertaken to ensure that the legacy is passed on to future generations.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Acting as a documentation centre for the work of the artists in the Nervia group, principally Anto-Carte, the association ensures the protection of the work of the artists in the group, Louis Buisseret, Léon Navez, Frans De Pooter, Léon Devos, Taf Wallet, Pierre Paulus, Rodolphe Strebelle and Jean Winance.
With the necessary archives at its disposal, the association also acts as a centre of expertise and authentication, and has therefore ensured that its work is supported by the opinions of independent professionals, all experts in their fields.
In 2023, the association developed a first catalogue raisonné of the artist ANTO-CARTE (www.antocarte.art).
Finally, the association also organises the promotion of artists by taking part in exhibitions at both national and international level, through publications and via its website.
We are always on the lookout for works, documents or archives that will enable us to flesh out the work carried out by the Foundation in the future and make our approach and advice as relevant and personal as possible.
